Biofield Balancing

The science and practice of moving the subtle energies of the body are as ancient as recorded history. Many cultures have developed this practice, which is known as Qigong in China, Reiki in Japan, and Bioenergy healing in this country. The U.S. Army has recently committed $4 million to the study of "bioenergies such as Qigong (and) Reiki" for treatment of everything from depression, stress and anxiety to substance abuse and addiction. Recent research suggests that bioenergy may have inhibitory effects on cancer growth, and prolong the life of cancer-infected animals. The National Institutes is currently funding research on the benefits of qigong in boosting immune function, cognitive function, and in treating breast cancer, and fatigue, in the management of cardiac disease, and many other medical conditions.

Bioenergy practice is designed to promote and maintain the balance of vital energy fields in the body. This is a non-touch process, although a light touch may sometimes be used. The participant is fully dressed. The sessions last about 30 minutes. After the session, participants generally report feeling relaxed centered and tranquil.
