Ben's style of training is influenced by his study of myriad fitness traditions, which led to a weight loss of over 100 lbs in early 2000. Ben studied Aikido and underwent Military training during his preparation to be deployed in Iraq as a US Army Sergeant, he did CrossFit during his tour of duty in south Baghdad from 2006 to 2007 and practiced yoga, meditation and Taoist Breathing techniques during his rehabilitation to a civilian lifestyle. Ben also has a unique outlook on the Fitness industry. Between 2006 and 2009 Ben worked towards a Masters in Public Anthropology from the American University. His final thesis paper was a critique on contemporary fitness paradigms and how their use can be adapted to emphasize life long health and wellness.
"I enjoy practicing the idea that I have a great deal of control over my body's health and wellness. As a trainer my goal is to encourage and empower others to create this idea for themselves."
