Retreat Frequently Asked Questions
Retreats with The Mindfulness Center are always a fun, rejuvenating and enlightening adventure to beautiful and often exotic locations! As you consider a retreat with TMC, you may have a few questions. Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions:
Do I have to be experienced with yoga and/or meditation to go?
You do not have to be experienced with yoga or meditation to attend a retreat with The Mindfulness Center. All of our retreat classes will be offered as an "all levels" experience, providing a meaningful practice for beginner and experienced practitioners alike. Depending on the retreat, some classes may include more or less movement (or none at all if the focus of the retreat is solely meditation). We do recommend that you have at least tried the practices previously since we will be diving in to them over the course of the retreat.
What if my husband/spouse/partner wants to come but has never done yoga or is not interested in attending the yoga or meditation classes?
As mentioned above, no previous experience is required. All retreat attendees are welcome to attend as many or as few of the offered classes, as they wish.
I would like to attend the retreat and be paired with a roommate. Will you pair me with someone?
We will do our best to pair you with someone, if there is another prospective retreat attendee also requesting a roommate, but TMC cannot guarantee this option or be responsible for roommate outcomes.
Are there payment plan options?
Yes. See retreat registration form for payment plan details or inquire with retreat coordinator if further options are needed.
What is the schedule and how many hours of yoga and/or meditation will we do each day?
The schedule varies per retreat, but we typically do a 90 minute practice twice each day, morning and late afternoon, taking one day off for rest/excursions and excluding arrival and departure days.
How many people usually attend the retreats?
Our retreats do tend to sell-out, with a nice sized group of usually around 15 people.
What are the demographics of your retreats?
Our retreats tend to include a great mix of experience level, gender and ages ranging from 20-75 years and also include single travelers as well as couples and friends traveling together.
