This evidence-based program for pain relief offers scientifically proven mind-body programs for relief of chronic pain, and inspirational life-changing opportunities to learn lifestyle practices known to reduce inflammation, relieve stress, improve sleep and to help you recover from chronic pain.

Dr. Norris is author of In the Flow: Bridging the Science and Practice of Mindfulness and numerous other chapters and articles on mindfulness.  She is founder of The Mindfulness Center™, Director of the Psychobiology of Healing Program at American University, and past professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School.


Dr. Norris, herself received a diagnosis of severe fibromyalgia, and was told to get a wheelchair and cautioned that she would soon need to quit her job because of crippling pain. Through her research and use of mind-body therapies, Dr. Norris was able to transform her life and find complete relief from pain. An accident several years later left her with a traumatic brain injury and seizures that doctors told her would last a lifetime and need constant medication. Again Dr. Norris embraced mind-body therapies, and without the use of other medical interventions she promptly ended the seizures. By sticking with these practices and embracing a wider range of lifestyle changes she has relieved the lingering pain of headaches and blurred vision that also resulted from the accident.

If your medical care providers are concerned about the use of opiates and other drugs to treat your pain, this program offers mind-body therapies that you can use to activate your own endogenous opiate system. These therapies activate your body’s own opiate-like chemicals helping you to feel better, sleep better, relieve stress and inflammation, and to find relief from chronic pain. In this program, neuroscientist, health researcher, and educator Dr. Deborah Norris shares the practices that have worked in her journey and in treating and working with thousands of other people who have come to her for relief from chronic pain. Her own published research working with veterans and children, as well of the research of hundreds of other scientists has proven not only the benefits of these practices, but the intricate physical mechanisms by which they work. With decades of experience, Dr. Norris’ specialty is teaching the most effective practices to connect the mind with the body to heal the body and relieve pain.
