Deborah Norris, Ph.D. – Founder of The Mindfulness Center™, based in Washington, D.C., & author of In the Flow: Bridging the Science and Practice of Mindfulness, and Editor-in-Chief of MindBodyJournal.com. Dr Norris is Psychologist-in-Residence and Director of the Psychobiology of Healing Program at American University, and past professor at Georgetown University Medical School.

Jessie Taylor

Jessie Taylor is Co-Founder and Director of Education at The Mindfulness Center (TMC) as well as a yoga and meditation instructor. She is 200-Hour ERYT with Yoga Alliance and for over a decade has studied a number of yoga  traditions, as well as meditation with the Washington Center for Consciousness Studies and the Gestalt Psychotherapy Center of Washington, DC and Trauma-Informed Mind-Body practices with the YogaHOPE organization. Jessie recognizes the ability of yoga and meditation to balance and enhance all aspects of our lives and to cultivate optimal wellness of mind, body and spirit. Her background includes training in the arts, sustainable design and feng shui, which brings a unique awareness of the flow of energy in and around us to her work. Through her work and teachings with TMC Jessie hopes to create an environment of healing and wellness which you take with you throughout life

View our class schedule online, register for the class you want, and choose your membership and payment options. For right now, classes are FREE/By-Donation.

You will receive a confirmation email from FitGrid soon after.

60 minutes prior to the scheduled class start time, you will receive another email from FitGrid with a unique link to access the live stream. Not seeing the email? Search your spam and promotions folders. Look for subject lines containing the phrase “live-stream link”.

Click your unique link a few minutes before class is scheduled to start.

If you have the Zoom application on your device already, you’ll join immediately, otherwise you will be prompted to download Zoom.

Register early for class. You can only register for classes PRIOR to their start time. Once a class has started, you will not be allowed to register for the class.

We are working to integrate passes with our new system. In the meantime, when you register for a class, it may ask you to pay, but when you check out, there should be the option to select “A Free Community Class Pass” option at $0 (or to make a donation). Please choose that option, and you will be registered for class properly.
