Become a certified yoga teacher in this 200-HR, Yoga Alliance Registered, Yoga Teacher Training with Dr. Deborah Norris and Jessie Norris Taylor of The Mindfulness Center. Explore the ancient foundations of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga as well as the modern evidences-basis for the use of yoga for developing social and emotional well-being, and its application in health care. This program is Co-Sponsored by the National Association of Social Workers. CE's are available to social workers, psychologists and other mental-health care providers.

SCHEDULE:

The Mindfulness Center’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training now offers two convenient schedules; our regular monthly schedule with rolling admission PLUS, our Just Announced Summer Intensive schedule, allowing you to complete the entire training over the course of the summer.  

1. Rolling Admission, 8-Month Schedule:

TMC’s rolling admission allows you to start at any time and finish at your own pace, in as little as 8 months or up to 18 months. This Yoga Alliance Registered 200-Hour program can be completed in 8 Monthly Weekend Sessions, plus one elective session.

2018:  January 11–14, February 22–25, March 22–25, April 5–8, May 17-20, 31 - June 2, August 9–12, September 13–16, October 18–21, November 8–11, December 6–9.

Thursdays 6-9pm
Fridays 6:30-9:30pm
Saturdays 9am-5pm
Sundays 12-5:30pm.

2. NEW! 2018 Summer Intensive Schedule: 

May 31 - June 3  ~ July 19 - 22  ~  July 26 - 29 (local overnight camping retreat*)  ~  Aug 9 -12
Thursdays: 9:15am-7:00pm
Fridays: 12:00-9:30pm
Saturdays: 9:00am-5:00pm
Sundays: 9:45am-5:20pm
+ 25 hours of required classes or workshops at TMC on your own time

Regular Ongoing 200 HR Schedule

The Mindfulness Center's Yoga Teacher Training is a Yoga Alliance Registered 200 Hour program, covered over 8 Weekend Sessions plus one Elective Session. Weekend sessions are offered approximately once a month. Our program features a unique rolling admission, allowing you to start at any time. Monthly weekend sessions are held over the following hours: Thursdays 6-9pm, Fridays 6:30-9:30pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm, Sundays 12-5:30pm.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The deposit is non-refundable. Refunds of the balance of tuition cannot be granted once the program begins.

The Mindfulness Center (TMC) is truly a special place. After trying several yoga studios in the Washington, DC area and not finding the right fit, I made TMC my home for practicing mindfulness. What sets TMC apart from yoga studios in the area is TMC’s holistic approach to mindfulness and ensuring every student in class feels comfortable and confident in practicing, whether they are a novice or a seasoned yogi. My wonderful teachers at TMC have instilled in me the love and appreciation for yoga by guiding me to listen to my body and go at my own pace, and slowly push the edge of my “limits” through patient practice. I don’t feel the need to compete with others in class, but focus on developing self-awareness and strength in my mind and body. This has kept me going back and building a consistent practice. The wide range of classes offered at TMC including different styles of yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, and others has also exposed me to a number of mindfulness tools and techniques to manage stress. It’s the best investment I have made in my health and well-being.
